Why Better, Not Perfect?

My husband (Nate) and I (Stephanie) have been interested in sustainability for a while now, independently and together, but we've decided in the face of all that seems out of control in the world right now to recommit to our desire to live as sustainably as possible.

We're going to do this by making the changes that we can, as we can--we're getting better, not perfect (since perfection is impossible for mere mortals).  And sometimes, knowing you'll never be perfect, it can seem so pointless to make any improvements at all, so this blog is to remind ourselves, and any readers we may acquire, that it's okay to just be better, not perfect.

After all, if we all made small changes, they would add up to big changes, and even if our small changes never amount to anything more, at least we can feel good about them.  We want to see how far we can go in our journey towards living the most sustainable lives possible, and if this inspires or informs anyone else to make a change or two, so much the better.
